The water in front of the building is calm enough most mornings to glide out before breakfast. We keep two stand-up paddleboards ready downstairs, with pumps, paddles and leashes — no rental queue, no deposit, no plans needed.
The larger board is an Aqua Marina Monster, rated up to 120 kg — stable, forgiving, ideal for first-timers, kids on a parent’s deck, or carrying a small cooler around the headland. The smaller Itiwit (up to 70 kg) is lighter and more responsive — better for longer paddles toward the coves north of Omišalj.
A typical morning: out at eight, around the point, anchor at a quiet bay, swim, paddle back by ten. The whole island starts to look different from the water.
